Fort Wayne, Indiana
Fort Wayne is located in northeastern Indiana. It is the second largest city in the state of Indiana behind Indianapolis. As of 2007, Fort Wayne has an estimated population of more than 252,000 residents. The city is named after General Anthony Wayne who built this as the last in a series of Forts. The area was first inhabited by the Miami nation and other Algonquin tribes. Though Fort Wayne remained a prominent city as a stopping point between New York City and Chicago, it lost a lot of fame when the railroad was constructed. It was officially incorporated as a city on February 22, 1840.
